about me

Psychotherapist and yoga teacher, Hong Kong and Bali

I'm Ester, a psychotherapist and yoga teacher based between Hong Kong and Bali, with a deep belief that the body and mind are not separate, but a whole self to be understood.

I'm a British-raised adoptee with Italian heritage, and have called Asia home for over a decade. Hong Kong was my base for almost ten years, mostly spent teaching yoga, before I began studying as a counsellor, and now work actively between Hong Kong and Bali.

Teaching trained me to notice the quiet details in others and myself: the way breath shifts, how someone carries themselves, the small physical cues that say more than words. That way of observing naturally came with me into the therapy room. Alongside my own life experience, my adoption story, moving abroad, changing careers, losses, this curiosity is what led me to my Master's in Counselling Psychology, which I hold alongside 450+ client hours of practice.

Alongside psychotherapy, I've been teaching yoga across Asia for over ten years, from 100+ student classes in Hong Kong to international retreats in Bali and beyond. With 900+ hours of training behind me, my teaching has always been about more than movement. It's about helping people feel like they belong and feel at home in themselves.

Aligned Being is the thread that runs through everything I do. Wherever you are in your journey, there is space for you here.

what l do and how l help

Somatic and integrative therapy for anxiety, identity and relationships

I offer therapy that works with the whole of you, not just the part that talks. Using ACT alongside IFS somatic parts work, I help you get to know the different parts of yourself, the ones that protect, the ones that ache, the ones that go quiet, and build a relationship with them that isn't about fixing or fighting, but understanding.

Sessions might involve conversation, they might involve noticing what's happening in your body as we talk, and they often involve both. I work with anxiety, stress, relationships and attachment, and questions of identity and belonging, including the particular experience of being an adoptee, an adoptive family member, or someone living between cultures.

I mainly work with adults in their twenties and thirties navigating life transitions, family dynamics, and questions of self-worth. Many of my clients are multicultural or cross-cultural, living far from where they grew up, and looking for a therapist who understands that experience from the inside.

My goal isn't to hand you a set of tools and send you on your way. It's to help you build a genuinely different relationship with yourself, one where your body and your mind are finally on the same side.
